Situated in Ashburton, Kwa Zulu Natal, we strive to produce one of the most innovative, highest quality geared torque motor on the market.
The company logo, interlinked gears, mirrors our commitment to partnerships with both our suppliers and customers and the integral team work in the factory.
Robberts and Sons started by SML Robberts in 1989. The business started in a small factory in Pietermaritzburg, with cutting of gears being the primary function. An American customer approached the business and asked us to design a boom gate motor. With a staff complement of 3, the business evolved from cutting gears to manufacturing boom gate motors.
The business traded as a sole proprietor from 1989 until September 2014, when the business was bought out by Alain Robberts ( SML Robberts Son) and Brett Gray, and is now trading as Robberts and Sons Geared Torque Motors (PTY) LTD, with a current staff complement of 10.
Since September 2014, Alain and Brett have spent a lot of time restructuring the staff, hiring additional staff, ensuring time for in-house training, and upgrading the manufacturing processes and workflows, which ensures products of the highest quality time after time and are trusted worldwide.
We strive to consistently meet or exceed the reasonable expectations of our customers and continually seek to grow our business to satisfy the demands of our customers and ever-changing demands of the industry.
